Here’s everything you need to know about Express Entry pathway, including how the system works, and how you can take advantage of it.
What are Express Entry Pathways?
The Express Entry Pathway, which was introduced in January 2015, is a system that allows Canada to select the best candidates for immigration on a more competitive basis. Applicants with the highest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score will be invited to apply for permanent residency. The CRS is a points-based system that evaluates an individual’s education, skills, work experience, language ability, and other criteria.
How does Express Entry work?
There are two main stages to Express Entry, which is quite straightforward. Candidates who qualify for Express Entry express their desire in becoming Canadian permanent residents to the Canadian government in the first significant stage. The top-scoring applicants are extended invitations to immigrate to Canada in the second major stage by the Canadian government. Ansari Immigration will also be delighted to provide a detailed explanation of these stages.
A step-by-step guide on how to submit your Express Entry profile and apply for a permanent residence visa to immigrate to Canada is provided below:
Check your eligibility for Express Entry.
Pass your language exam and get an Educational Credentials Assessment (ECA).
Upload your profile on the website of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Wait to see if the IRCC sends you an invitation to apply (ITA) for permanent residence
Complete your Application for Permanent Residence (APR) and submit it to IRCC together with your fee payment within the given deadline. This stage requires you to attach copies of your police clearance and medical examination. After that, IRCC will give you an Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR).
Submit your biometric data when IRCC requests it.
Await the IRCC’s final determination of your APR. Applications should be processed by IRCC in no more than six months. If your application is accepted, you will be issued a Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) and a permanent resident visa (if you are from a country that requires a visa) so you can arrive in Canada and finish your immigration process.
How long does the Express Entry process take?
For up to a year, an Express Entry profile is valid. Candidates who acquire an ITA can anticipate the Canadian government processing their petitions for permanent residency within six months. The moment a complete application for permanent residency is received, the government starts tracking the processing time.
Once the application is given final approval, the processing period is over. If an applicant does not obtain an ITA within a year of completing their Express Entry profile, they can simply re-submit their profile if they are still qualified.
